Detailed:
- Computers
Are
Always Under
Warranty
- Computers are under warranty
the entire time they are in use by customer.
- Got a
system that's down,
we fix or replace it.
- We can
repair
the
unit, or if it has one of those pesky time consuming problems that is
hard to isolate we may elect to simply replace the unit.
- Never
purchase
repair parts again for out of warranty
systems.
- The
customer is never charged for replacement parts under this program.
- Stabilize
cash flow.
- AMI will
accept payments monthly, quarterly,
semiannually or annually as the business requires, or AMI will accept
payment in full for the entire
commitment period if that benefits the business. See "How The Program
Works" below.
- Avoid charges
related to warranty returns.
- Under
other programs even
during the warranty period it takes time, and often
costs
extra money, to remove, package and ship defective parts. One
might say it doesn't cost that much, and we agree, depending on
whether or not the person doing the box, pack and ship functions is
making
$10.00 per hour or $40.00 per hour. AMI can provide for scheduled pickup/drop off and on site services, as required.
- Get a
better handle on
what computers actually cost.
- The total
cost of keeping computers on the desk of associates is
sometimes a difficult number to accurately calculate.
Initial hardware purchase price, interest charges, extended
warranty costs,
continued maintenance, out of warranty parts and labor costs, and
disposal of obsolete systems are some of the cost categories that
apply, and are areas in which AMI can help.
- With the
AMI "Always Under Warranty" program
we have carefully integrated hardware offerings with service programs
that maximize the cost savings.
- Under
this program service costs can be minimized by AMI's ability
to simply repair a
defective unit, or replace it. Customer IS staff costs may
then
be
reduced by shifting more of the time spent on system repair to AMI.
- Overall
we believe the total
cost of ownership, if the level of service we provide is given any
weight at all, will be less under our program.
- How Rates
are Calculated
- AMI
tailors rates based on the customer's needs. Rates are
calculated based on the following considerations:
- The
cost of the equipment
- The
cost of service requested, including:
- If
onsite service is required.
- If
the business's IS personnel do equipment repairs.
- If
scheduled onsite repair is permitted or required.
- If
weekly, or daily, equipment pickup and repair are acceptable
alternatives to on-demand onsite service.
- Some
customers may only want depot parts replacement, and no other services.
- No more
worries over how to properly dispose of obsolete systems.
- Sending
hi-tech products to the dump is now more
problematic
than ever due to environmental concerns. Under this
program all units are simply
returned to AMI.
- Return
and Replace Equipment on Your Schedule
- Replace
your equipment in an orderly manner. After
the commitment period expires the equipment may be returned or
may continue
to be used. This is often helpful in situations where:
- The equipment
is continuing to do a satisfactory job.
- The IS
personnel need more time to orderly replace the equipment.
- Budgetary
constraints require a delay in new equipment replacements.
- Flexible Commitment
Periods.
- Commit to use and pay for
computers from 12 to 48
months, or longer. You select the commitment period that is
right
for your business. Typical commitment periods are 24, 36 to
48
months, and
we can provide for
such other commitment periods as benefits the business.
- How The Program Works.
- In order to provide systems that are "Always Under
Warranty" we do two primary things.
- First, we retain ownership of the computer through a
rental contract. This allows us to offer the many extra
benefits listed above, specifically the option of simply swapping out a
defective system.
- Secondly, the business agrees to a commitment period (a
minimum period to which the equipment will be kept and paid for).
Commitment periods typically run 12 to 48 months.
- Some
companies interchange
the terms "rent" and "lease". In our context we use the word
"rent" to mean that we own the equipment, and the term "lease" to mean
ownership passes to the customer at some point, typically either at the
beginning
of or at the end of the lease term.
- If your
business requires the business own the equipment we can provide for a
"lease".
Unfortunately, if the business owns the equipment then one of
the
major benefits of AMI owning the equipment is lost. That
being
AMI's option to replace a defective computer with another computer.
In a lease situation the systems would be maintained in the
same
manner as in a standard warranty program. However, do call as
we
will be happy to work up a lease program.
- About
American
Micro Inc.
- American
Micro Inc., was
founded in 1991 as a company whose specific mission was to build and
sell computers to businesses and schools. We continue this
mission today.
- During
these past 15 years
we have sold thousands of computers to Indiana businesss and colleges.
And,
more importantly have learned to keep costs down and learned how to
work well
with the business's IS personnel.
- Located
in West Terre Haute,
Indiana, we are close to our customers making it easy for us to be at
their locations as needed, and likewise easy and convenient for the
customer's personnel to come to our location.
- We have a
large inventory of computer parts and networking items.
- We give
back, having donated computers to institutions and other causes in our
region.
- We have
and continue to use personnel that have attended Indiana schools and
colleges.
- AMI also draws on the knowledge or our
suppliers and their cost
saving
programs to further save money; indirectly saving the customer money
too!
- Our
history, location, personnel and customer base make us uniquely suited
to provide
computers to Midwestern businesses and colleges.
